UVA trip #4, MRI #2

We headed down to UVA again to take Shaun for a more in depth study of his brain and how it metabolizes oxygen and sugar. I was blessed to have the boys taken care of by a great friend and Granddaddy while we were gone. Alisha came with me on this hike and once again I was blessed by the Lord as He knew just who I needed to come with me. We were supposed to go back for the MRI with spectroscopy at 1:15 and finally made it back there around 4:30. This whole time and since 7 in the morning, Shaun had been fasting. It was difficult to not let him eat as he didn't understand but he was a champ. Alisha wore him for most of the time since when he came to me he would want to eat. He doesn't just go to anyone so it was fantastic to have her there.
During our time waiting, Shaun made a new friend, Zac.We also met up with a long time friend of Alisha's, Lori, who lives close Charlottesville. It was great to meet her as now we have somewhere to stay if we need in the future! God is good.
We took Shaun back for the procedure and while waiting there the ophthalmologist we saw the week before just happened to stop by. I made sure with him of the appointment that we have next week (which was scheduled wrong~ Yea, God! again) and Shaun jumped into his arms as to say "I remember you!" Dr. Scruggs loved it and I assured him he was back on Shaun's good list.
They then took Shaun back for the MRI and we left to get something to eat. They were not going to put him on a breathing tube but just a mask unless it was necessary and when the doctor came out, he said that it had been necessary and Shaun had a slight reaction to the anesthesia causing him breathing difficulties and irregularities so they had to tube him. We then spent some time in the PACU as they wanted to monitor him before we traveled home. We had some great nurses and it was fun to talk to them. They all thought Shaun was a ham. He ate and ate, and then ate some more! It was fantastic! Finally we departed for home around 8:30 and ended our trip at 11 (12 hours later).

Next trip to UVA~ March 21....

Tubes

Don't tell my Daddy, I was pretty in pink! (It was the only color they had in my size)
All went well and hopefully the tubes will keep the ear infections away!
